In this lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers rom-com, two exes are faced with one deadline. Will they make it to the end?

Temi and Wale meet in London. They flirt, date, meet each other's friends.

Then they break up. And Wale goes on a reality dating show.

Instead of giving in to heartbreak, Temi throws herself into her dream: writing. She's within touching distance of a book deal that would solve all her problems. But publishers keep passing on her novel and bills still have to be paid. So, when the opportunity to ghost-write a celebrity memoir arises, Temi accepts.

And, of course, the celebrity turns out to be Wale...

Will Temi and Wale repeat the patterns of their past? Or can they write a whole new story?

AUTHOR BIO:

Lizzie Damilola Blackburn is a British-Nigerian charity worker-turned-author who grew up in south London and now lives with her husband and young son in Milton Keynes. Her debut novel, Yinka, Where is Your Huzband?, was selected by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai as a Literati book club pick. Blackburn was also a runner-up for a Diverse Book Award (UK) in 2023. The Re-Write is her second novel.

"The novel depicts the challenge of navigating two cultures, both of which Yinka is a part of and apart from. In her commitment to being her whole self and true to her faith and ideals, Yinka writes a prayer for herself, a rallying cry to which we can all shout, 'Amen!'"
--NPR

"The Re-Write is a delightful rom-com packed with humor and heart. With a deeply lovable cast of characters, irresistible chemistry and a page turning premise, this warm and witty novel is a wonderful celebration of love and storytelling."
--Rufaro Faith Mazarura, author of Let the Games Begin

"[ The Re-Write] is about so much more than love, it's about changing your own story, being honest - both with others and yourself - and the power your truth has to help you find the best version of yourself."
-- Ore Agbaje-Williams, author of The Three of Us
